Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight’s already fraught relationship roiled by opposing views on Israel-Hamas war Even without their political differences, Angelina Jolie had understandable reasons for keeping her father Jon Voight at a distance for much of her life. The Academy Award-winning actor had cheated on her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, and left her to raise Jolie and her brother on her own.But in recent years, Jolie, 48, and Voight, 84, reportedly reconciled. She told Vanity Fair in 2017 that he helped her after her bitter, high-profile split from Brad Pitt. She said he had been “very good at understanding” that her six children needed their grandfather and that he was happy to play the “cool grandpa,” telling them stories and reading books to them. This famously fraught daughter/father relationship is back in the spotlight after Voight came out pretty strongly against Jolie over their different views on the Israel-Hamas war. He recorded a video on Instagram over the weekend, saying he was “very disappointed” that she spoke in defense of Palestinians...

Time is running out for 2-7 Patriots to salvage worst start to season since Tom Brady’s departure FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — This season was supposed to be a course correction for the New England Patriots. A year removed from an 8-9 finish that featured a regression for second-year quarterback Mac Jones and the offense under the direction of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, the 2023 season was supposed to be a step toward contending again in an AFC East they had once dominated with Tom Brady.Instead, at 2-7 at the halfway point following a loss to Washington, the Patriots appear the furthest they’ve been from relevancy since Brady left following the 2019 season. They are at the bottom of the AFC and are the only team yet to win a game outside of its division, the return of coordinator Bill O’Brien hasn’t reinvigorated the offense, and they are dealing with a mounting number of injuries that make a resurgence in the second half of the schedule seem unlikely. And as coach Bill Belichick slogs through his worst start to a season in New England since his first one in 2000, chatter surroun...
