WASHINGTON (AP) — Andy Murray thanked fans for taking off — or skipping — work to watch him play in the DC Open on a Wednesday afternoon. His vintage performance made it worth it.Cheered loudly and vociferously by the crowd at stadium court, the three-time Grand Slam champion and former top-ranked men’s player rallied to win the first-set tiebreak and beat American Brandon Nakashima 7-6(5), 6-4. It’s his first win in Washington since 2018, a low point of Murray’s career when fatigue caused him to withdraw and he didn’t want to play tennis anymore. The British star has no such issues now and showed clearly that at 36 he’s still got it.“It’s nice to be back and not having any of those issues and being pain-free and still competing at a high level,” Murray “It’s been a long journey these last four or five years, but I’m happy to still be going.”Murray is still going at this hard-court tune-up for the U.S. Open after coming back from down 5-2 in the tiebreak....Are medical schools overlooking an important skill for doctors?

Doctors undergo a lot of training in order to diagnose, treat and heal their patients. But there’s one “missed opportunity” a neurologist believes should have more emphasis.“Doctors are not trained in communication,” said Dr. Adina Wise, a neurologist at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York. The traditional model of medical education goes from undergraduate to medical school.“There’s really an emphasis on learning the foundational concepts, but also on a lot of memorization, so that you can essentially regurgitate that information for exams,” Wise said. Then there’s the time spent in clinical situations to gain that experience, but Wise said there’s no room in the current model for opportunities for physicians and future doctors to “really take time to hone in on the best ways to communicate both with the public at large, and with patients.”Wise called that a missed opportunity that is being better taught to studen...Mike Pence afirma que Trump estaba mal asesorado y rodeado de abogados “chiflados”

SEATTLE (AP) — Julio Rodríguez hit a tiebreaking RBI single and stole home in a four-run seventh inning, leading the Seattle Mariners to a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.Rodríguez’s broken-bat grounder rolled into left field when Boston shortstop Yu Chang and third baseman Rafael Devers collided while trying to field the ball, allowing Tom Murphy to score. “It wasn’t pretty,” Mariners manager Scott Servais said. “There have been much prettier singles. Your bat gets blown up and it goes right at the shortstop when he’s trying to field the ball. But, we often talk, it’s baseball. You need a little luck once in awhile.”Eugenio Suárez followed with an RBI single to right field, giving the Mariners a two-run lead. Then, Rodríguez, on a double steal with Suárez, scored from third when Boston catcher Connor Wong threw to second base. Rodríguez now has a career-high 27 game on-base streak, the longest active streak in MLB and Seattle’s longest sin...Aparatoso choque de tren con autobús deja varios muertos y heridos en México

The last thing she thought when she signed up for the job is that she'd become the victim of a scam. "They could have told me anything to get my adrenaline, going to get me to give them that information," Grasmick said. Back on July 21, she said she had just dropped off a passenger at Denver International Airport and got a ping that another rider requested a ride leaving the airport. But she said when she made it to the pickup point, they never showed up. “Then I got a text message from a specific number asking me to call them saying they were Lyft,” Grasmick said. It’s also been a hub for drug dealing and for those with opioid-use disorder.“As always, we’re looking to connect people with housing, services, and supports, but we also know many of the people at Mass and Cass during the day do have housing. We continue to engage regularly with everyone to understand what their needs are,” Wu said. The mayor said she’s worked to sec...Latest news
