A former Adams County jail inmate is suing an Adams County sheriff’s deputy, alleging the deputy put the inmate in a chokehold last year for drawing on the wrong kind of paper.The lawsuit, filed Dec. 8 in Adams County District Court by Gabriel Sisneros, alleges Deputy Jason Humphrey on Dec. 13, 2022, “flew into an inexplicable rage” at Sisneros while he was in the jail and grabbed Sisneros by the neck, put him in a chokehold and lifted him off the ground by the neck.Surveillance video that Sisneros’ attorney uploaded online appears to show most of the physical allegations.The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and awards of a judgment declaring Humphrey’s actions violated the state constitution, compensatory damages including “for future pecuniary and non-pecuniary losses, physical and mental pain, humiliation, fear, anxiety, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of liberty, privacy, and sense of security and individual dignity,” punitive damages and atto...Lions 7, Broncos 0: Jared Goff connects with Sam LaPorta for 19-yard touchdown

A senseless act of violence claimed the life of a four-year-old boy in Antelope Valley Friday evening in what authorities say was a case of road rage.It unfolded around 7:30 p.m. in Lancaster.According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a family was traveling in the area of Sierra Highway and East Avenue J when a driver cut them off and then began pursuing them through city streets.“While being pursued by the suspects, the victim driver slowed his vehicle, at which time the suspect driver pulled up along the passenger side of the victim's car and began shooting,” the Sheriff's Department said in a statement. Four people sustained minor injuries when a Los Angeles Metro transit bus rolled into a wall on Saturday.The accident occurred around 3:40 p.m. at 270 S. Loma Dr. in L.A.’s Westlake neighborhood, according to the L.A. Fire Department. Footage shows the bus rolled backward into a retaining wall outside of a resident complex, causing significant damage to both the bus and the wall.Four people were hurt when a Los Angeles Metro transit bus rolled backward into a wall. As California grapples with the crises of homelessness and behavioral health, Governor Gavin Newsom says several local governments are not doing enough to help address these issues. Police in Montgomery County, Maryland, are looking for a suspect who they say drove into three people outside a courthouse in Rockville this week.Rockville City Police say 44-year-old Walter Giovanni Marquez-Aviles, of Gaithersburg, is charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of first-degree assault.Three people — a 79-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old man — were struck by a dark-colored SUV at 199 East Montgomery Avenue, just outside the Montgomery County District Courthouse shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to a news release from the department.
