DENVER (KDVR) -- Thanksgiving is a time when many people and groups seek to help others. One Colorado community leader is pushing past his own tragedy to continue helping others in need.Lumumba Sayers, founder of Heavy Hands Heavy Hearts, spent the holiday as he normally does: Giving out food to those who need it for their Thanksgiving on the Go. Only this year, he is missing one of the people who usually help him. DENVER (KDVR) — A Thornton man is thankful to be alive this Thanksgiving after he tried to follow the thieves who stole his truck and ended up getting shot at.In the Pine Lakes Ranch mobile home park in Thornton, a victim, who wants to conceal his identity for his safety, is shocked at how quickly thieves can change everything.“It all happened within seconds, I’m devastated,” the victim said, adding, “For it to happen in broad daylight around 4 o'clock in the afternoon when there's plenty of kids, our families here, a lot of families.”The victim told FOX31 that moments after heading inside for a family gathering last Saturday, two young thieves, spotted on a neighbor’s surveillance cameras, walked around the mobile home park and the area. Footage then shows them taking off with the victim’s truck. DENVER (KDVR) -- A woman was identified in a shooting that occurred at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Denver Police Department.In a post to X, formerly Twitter, DPD said it was investigating a shooting in the 700 block of South Kearney Street, part of the Washington Virginia Vale neighborhood. One person was transported to a hospital and identified Thursday as a man who is expected to survive. 2 transported for stabbing in Five Points Nancy Ryan, 61, was identified and arrested on a count of first-degree assault. NEW YORK (AP) — A woman has alleged in a lawsuit that actor, singer and comedian Jamie Foxx sexually assaulted her at a rooftop bar in New York in 2015, an incident the actor says “never happened.” The lawsuit filed Wednesday in state Supreme Court in Manhattan by a woman known in the documents only as Jane Doe alleges that Foxx rubbed her breasts and groped her under her pants against her will. The suit says she and a friend were seated at a table next to Foxx’s at Catch NYC in 2015. The woman’s asked Foxx for a photo, and the two women took several pictures with him, the suit says. It says that afterward, he began complimenting her “super model body” and told her she looked like the actor Gabrielle Union. He then grabbed her by the arm and took her to a secluded area, where he put both hands under her crop top and felt her breasts, the suits says.
